The Hollywood star Rob Schneider took to Twitter on Friday to hilariously mock California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom for his hypocrisy on coronavirus lockdowns.

Schneider Mocks Newsom

“I’m making a list of people who could care less about following Gavin Newsom’s stay at home order, so far I have: 1. Gavin Newsom,” Schneider tweeted alongside a photo of Newsom attending a dinner party last month with around a dozen friends at the ritzy French Laundry restaurant in the Napa wine country.

This was a direct violation of Newsom’s own strict COVID-19 lockdown orders that he expects the people of California to follow at all times.

Newsom later apologized in a COVID-19 press conference, saying that he needs to practice what he preaches and adding that the group at the party was “larger than I anticipated.”

“I made a bad mistake,” Newsom said, according to KMPH. “Instead of sitting down I should have stood up and walked back and got in my car and drove to my house.”

“The spirit of what I’m preaching all the time was contradicted and I’ve got to own that,” the Democrat added. “And so I want to apologize to you because I need to preach and practice. Not just preach and not practice.”

Schneider Has Bashed Newsom Before

This was not the first time that Schneider, a former cast-member on “Saturday Night Live,” has called out Newsom for being a hypocrite.

Dear Emperor Gavin Newsom,” Schneider tweeted in October. “During our allotted 3 family limit this Thanksgiving, if my Aunt comes over, can I throw her a slice of turkey from the window? We promise NOT to sing… we will all just whisper, “PLEASE RECALL DIPSHIT GAVIN NEWSON!”

Schneider was referring to Newsom’s strict COVID-19 Thanksgiving orders that limited the number of people who could gather in private homes.

Newsom is just one of many Democrat leaders who have been caught breaking their own COVID-19 rules as of late. “Rules for thee but not for me,” indeed.
