POPE Francis’ Instagram account appears to have been caught liking a bikini model’s racy suspenders picture today.

An eagle-eyed follower of Natalia Garibotto claims to have got a screenshot showing the pontiff’s social media account following the saucy snap.

It was shared online and commented on by the model, but the official @franciscus account no longer appears to like the picture.

The image shows the Brazilian model, 27, posing in suspenders and a skirt that barely makes it past her waist.

It is not clear if the post was quickly un-liked by the official Pope’s account over the mistake or if the allegedly captured like is real.

But the apparent “double click” from the head of the Catholic church left the model laughing.

Barstool Sports reports she said “at least I’m going to heaven” after the screenshot was shared.

Others were less than impressed, demanding the papal account remove the like.

While some approved of the apparent interaction with the model, with one tweeting “now that’s my kind of Pope”.

Last month the Pope endorsed same-sex civil unions in a historic shift for the Roman Catholic church.

PAPAL PRAISE?

He said homosexual people are “children of God and have a right to be in a family”.

Speaking in the film Francesco by Oscar-nominated director Evgeny Afineevsky he said: “What we have to create is a civil union law.

“That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that.”

And earlier in the year he warned his Catholic followers that gossiping is a plague “worse than coronavirus.”

As he addressed the crowds at The Vatican, Pope Francis said that gossip threatens to divide the Catholic Church – and that the devil is the “biggest gossiper.”

Last week the Pope congratulated President-elect Joe Biden on his election win as the former vice president calls for immigrants and refugees to be welcomed in the United States.

Biden thanked Pope Francis for “extending blessings and congratulations” while praising the pope for his leadership in “promoting peace, reconciliation and the common bonds of humanity around the world.”
