Missing Texas mom Heidi Broussard found dead, newborn alive, family says; 1 charged

The police in Austin have discovered a body they believe is of missing 33-year-old mother named Heidi Broussard as well as located her newborn daughter, Margot Carey fine and alive.

As per detective Brad Herries, 3-week-old Margot is healthy and safe and presently is under observation at the Child Protective Services. Though the true identity of the woman hasn’t been confirmed, a few early indications make them believe that it’s Heidi, continued Herries.

An autopsy is being conducted by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office to know the identity of the woman as well as the reason behind her death. Meanwhile, the authorities are currently waiting for DNA test results before making any further announcements, said the police.

Brian Manley, the Chief of Austin Police has confirmed that a man has been charged with 2 counts of abduction and 1 count of meddling with a body. The suspect is under custody and is being held with a $600,000 bail.

Heidi and Margot reportedly went missing on 12 December, after Heidi dropped her son at the Cowan Elementary school. The police said that Heidi as well as Margot had returned back home, before disappearing.

The police received a call from Heidi’s husband the same day; post he was informed that Heidi never showed up to pick up their son from the school.
