GERMAN cops want to return to Praia Da Luz as part of a “final roll of the dice” in their investigation into the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Sun Online exclusively revealed over the weekend how the case into Christian B, 43, is set to be wound down in the New Year due to a lack of clues.

Now, in a desperate bid to generate fresh leads on the jailed sex offender, German officers working on the case want to travel back to the Algarve.
A source in Portugal who is close to the investigation said: “German officers believe there are areas of the investigation into [Christian B] and his time in Portugal which would benefit from having boots on the ground.
“Most specifically there are unanswered questions about [Christian B’s] movements in the days and weeks after [Madeleine] vanished.
“German officers also think witnesses still living in Portugal could hold vital clues.
“They’d be devastated to close the case on this investigation without going over to the Algarve and turning over every stone they can.”
Sources close to the case also believe the desire from German cops to visit Praia Da Luz, where Madeleine disappeared from in 2007, is linked to a “catastrophic” breakdown in relations between German and Portuguese officers.
As the Sun Online has previously reported, Algarve-based detectives have always believed the probe into Christian B was a waste of time.
They claim to have ruled him out within weeks of Madeleine’s disappearance.
Our source added: “It is no secret the German and Portuguese teams have a different view on this case and on whether [Christian B] is involved.
“This is part of the reason why German detectives would love to return.”
Despite the high profile nature of the probe into Christian B the case has hit a brick wall in recent weeks.
And German police have only been in the Algarve a couple of times since the probe into Christian B was announced back over the Summer.
It is likely the detectives will need to present strong evidence of leads to follow up in order to be given permission to fly in and investigate the case.

Over the weekend it emerged Christian B may never be questioned by police as investigators say they do not have enough evidence and are just one witness away from justice.
Having carried out searches and spoken to people close to Christian B, the prosecutor leading the investigation has said police do not have enough evidence to secure an arrest warrant.
