Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and the rest of her radically liberal âSquadâ are taking a victory lap right now after President Joe Biden took a series of climate executive actions.
Tlaib âPleasedâ With Biden Climate Executive Actions
In an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Tlaib said that she is âpleasedâ to see that the âprinciples and the values in the Green New Deal,â which was created by her âSquad,â in Bidenâs climate executive orders.
âI think itâs a courageous first step in trying to make sure that our next agenda for the next year, four years is centered on environmental justice issues that are critically important to my district,â she said of Bidenâs executive actions.
Tlaib proceeded to take much of the credit for what Biden is doing for herself and her âSquad.â
âI think the Green New Deal is not going anywhere, and if anything, Iâm really pleased to see that much of some of the principles and the values in the Green New Deal are in this executive order by President Biden,â she said.
Tlaib ominously went on to add that the Green New Deal âdid push, and it continues to push many of my colleagues, including the president, towards, again, a much more aggressive and I think timely approach to addressing the fact that we donât have clean water and clean air in our country right now.â

The $1.2 trillion plan is already being slammed for how expensive it is as well as for the American jobs it will cost at a time when Americans need jobs more than ever.
Patrick Morrisey, West Virginiaâs Republican attorney general, spoke out to say that Bidenâs plan would be âdestructiveâ to the economy as the U.S. struggles to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
âWhat weâre seeing in the first week of the Biden administration is that the president is really taking a wrecking ball to many of the states that have oil, gas, coal, manufacturing jobs â thatâs gonna have a real detrimental impact, especially as the American economy is coming out of COVID-19, a pandemic,â Morrisey told Fox News.

He added that âBiden is going much furtherâ than Barack Obama ever did.
âI think heâs really kicking the American people when theyâre down economically and itâs not a message of unity that heâs been talking about,â Morrisey added.
