FANS of The Simpsons have spotted an eerily accurate election ‘prediction’ showing the US split almost exactly as it looks now.
An eight-year-old clip shows the blue and red states map from an episode where Mr Burns is endorsing Mitt Romney – and the similarity is spooky.

In the 2012 episode, Mr Burns pledges his support to Mitt Romney, who went head to head against Barack Obama.
The cartoon millionaire attempted to get a dog to choose between the candidates, but before this he pointed to the red and blue split state map.
It bares an uncanny resemblance to the current US election map that has been plastered across tv screens and news outlets since Tuesday.
One person wrote: “Bro the Simpsons really do predict everything.”
SPOOKY SIMILARITIES
The show had only managed to get one state wrong, and that was Arizona.
One wrote on Twitter: “I mean its pretty simple to predict sometimes which of them are liberal or conservative states, I don’t blame the Simpsons for doing good research.”
This is not the first time the hit family cartoon has appeared to predict future events, leaving fans baffled and convinced script writers are pyschic.
In 2001, The Simpsons predicted that Trump would become president and now it’s looking like his daughter could be following in his footsteps.
During an episode in 2016, they showed a badge with her name on it during a future election in 2028.
