There has been an emergence of raging protests amongst the people of India. The reason for this is the disputed citizenship law which provides exclusive treatment to Hindu and non-Muslim emigrants in Asian countries.
According to this law, Christian and Hindu immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh who arrived in India before 2015, can be termed as Indian citizens on the basis that they were harassed or oppressed in the Muslim-superiority countries.
The Indian Parliament permitted to implement this bill last week and this led to the state of agitation among people. Also, this has become a comprehensive challenge for the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi.
On one of his tweets, Modi wrote that no individual community will be affected by this law. People should work together as it is for the development of the country, he continued.
Meanwhile, the most brutal protest took part in the state of Assam, which is located in the north-eastern region of the country. As per the locals, mobs scorched train stations and buildings in Assam as a result of outrage over Hindu Bangladeshi immigrants becoming legal citizen of the country now.
Six people have reportedly died in Assam and the protest has radiated to different areas of the country like Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
